Welcome! The Ladies First Project! has been created by aerobatic champion Patty Wagstaff and US Air Force pilot Jill Long.
The Ladies First Project was established to provide a platform for women in aviation around the world to share their stories. Whether flying airliners, turning wrenches, directing traffic, managing FBOs, or pumping Avgas, women in aviation have a unique story to tell.
While women have contributed greatly to the fields of aviation and aerospace, they continue to be in the minority. Women deal with this situation in many ways and since humor is often the best way to deal with life’s challenges, The Ladies First Project is looking for funny, heartwarming, ironic, ludicrous, even absurd stories that describe what it is like for women in the world of aviation. In telling these stories we hope to provide a connection between those who have taken part in the exploits of slipping the surly bonds of earth and those who are considering accepting the challenge.
To become part of this sorority of the skies, The Ladies First Project invites you to submit your story. We hope that these stories of humor will evolve into a series of publications and eventually into the ability to help others achieves their aviation/aerospace dreams. While we can’t promise all stories will be published, we will absolutely give careful consideration to all submissions!
We hope you join The Ladies First Project and look forward to reading your stories!
